Job Description

Five then you just might have come across the job listing  for you. We are a bookkeeping firm that services small and medium sized businesses. Anything from consulting  to full charge bookkeeping and the occasional interim office management position our firm seeks to grow as  equally deep as we do wide. In other words, we will not sacrifice the quality of the work for the sake of expansion.  Our firm is small – so small you’ll be the first actual employee of the business. About the Position 

We’re looking for a part time bookkeeper (with room to grow!!) who holds a strong energy, is extremely  trustworthy, detail oriented and not afraid to dive into the nitty gritty and who's willing to learn at a quick pace.  Someone that enjoys building strong and healthy relationships with clients while working in a team setting to  provide the best possible service. We believe a dependable partnership with our clients is what sets us apart  from others. We need someone who can take charge of a situation, isn’t afraid of thinking outside of the box,  can handle multiple clients, enjoys spreadsheets, reconciling and of course – cleanups! You’ll need to be familiar  with working in a virtual setting, be flexible to changes and learn new software and ways to streamline processes.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Exceptional QBO Skills: Demonstrate top-notch proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO), from setup and  customization to troubleshooting and ongoing support, ensuring clients are well-supported and  confident in using the platform. Maintain multiple files for clients for their weekly/monthly needs.  Reconcile bank/cc/LOC/liabilities and payroll. Perform reviews of vendor and customer accounts for  accurate A/R and A/P. Manage vendor setups and ensure data is up to date and accurate in files  gathering W9s throughout the year. Provide accurate financial statements to clients. Work with clients  to obtain necessary documentation for accuracy of transaction recordkeeping with receipt management  software. 

  • Cloud-Based Application Savvy: Be extremely comfortable with cloud-based accounting applications, file  sharing and shifting gears with software if needed. Using technology to streamline processes and  enhance client services is a MUST. 

  • Client Interaction and Support: Guide clients through data collection, manage data entry, and respond to  client questions with professionalism and clarity. Be proactive with our clients and engage with them  regularly. Build a strong line of communication and anticipate their needs when possible. Learn about your clients and adhere to their boundaries as much as possible. 

  • Clear and Precise Communication: Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide  clear, timely updates to clients and the team. Ensure you are updating and creating task to manage client  projects 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of bookkeeping experience in QuickBooks Online and managing client accounts  

  • Demonstrated experience in payroll processing AND reconciliation 

  • Experience guiding others with a focus on constructive feedback and positive reinforcement

  • Clear understanding of accounting principles and practices 

  • No plans to start your own bookkeeping business 

  • A computer with a second monitor & stable and secure internet connection 

  • Technologically savvy and able to learn new software quickly 

  • Quiet workspace, suitable for client/team meetings 

  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems 

  • Excellent attention to detail 

  • Exceptional communication skills 

 

Desirable Qualifications 

  • 5+ years of progressively responsible bookkeeping experience in QuickBooks Online and managing client  accounts in a virtual environment 

  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting and payroll standards as they apply to Texas small and  medium-sized businesses

  • Direct bookkeeping or accounting experience in one or more of the following industries: Non-Profits,  eCommerce, Real Estate, or Healthcare
